Required
18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
If you were homeschooled for high school, please send a notarized diploma or signed transcripts. If you have any issues with this, contact info@midwiferyschool.org to learn about other options.
Completion of college-level Math course (3 credits) or passing score of 50 on the CLEP exam *Note: preparatory or remedial courses will not be accepted; must pass the course with a grade of "C" or higher
Completion of college-level English course (3 credits) or passing score of 50 on the CLEP exam *Note: preparatory or remedial courses will not be accepted; must pass the course with a grade of "C" or higher
Completion of college-level Medical Terminology (1 credit) course *Note: must pass the course with a grade of "C" or higher
For students looking for an in-person option your local community college is typically a good place to start. If you are interested in an online course, we recommend Straighterline.
Certification in “Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers” through an AHA or Red Cross approved, in-person course.
OPTIONAL
Prospective students new to birth work may choose to complete a doula training course as a way to gain exposure to birth work and natural childbirth. Doula training is not prioritized in our application process.
