Florida Midwifery Statute and Administrative Code
This is the law and rule specific to the practice of Florida Licensed Midwives.
Southern Birth Justice Network (SBJN)
Southern Birth Justice Network’s mission is to expand Birth Justice by using story telling, popular education, and community organizing to improve access to midwifery and doula care to to all peoples - especially Black, Brown, youth, immigrant, indigenous, LGBTQ+, low- income and other marginalized communities.
Black Mamas Matter Alliance (BMMA)
Black Mamas Matter Alliance is a Black women-led cross-sectoral alliance. We center Black mamas to advocate, drive research, build power, and shift culture for Black maternal health, rights, and justice.
Midwives Alliance of North America (MANA)
MANA is a professional organization for all midwives. The mission of MANA is to provide a nurturing forum for support and cooperation among midwives.
Foundation for Florida Midwives, Inc. (FFM)
FFM is a Florida non-profit corporation dedicated to the promotion and advancement of Florida licensed midwifery. Through advocacy and action, the Foundation seeks to ensure that Florida licensed midwifery remains an evidence-based option for Florida families.
The American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM)
ACNM's mission is to promote the health and well-being of women and infants within their families and communities through the development and support of the profession of midwifery as practiced by nurse-midwives and certified midwives.
Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC)
MEAC is the national accrediting body for midwifery schools. There are 9 accredited midwifery schools in the US, and FSTM is the only accredited midwifery school in the Southeast.
National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM)
NACPM is a non-profit professional organization for Certified Professional Midwives.
North American Registry for Midwives (NARM)
NARM is an international certification agency who establishes and administers certification for the Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) credential. The NARM exam is used to certify both CPMs and Florida Licensed Midwives. FSTM students have a 98% pass rate on the NARM exam.

The purpose of the Black Midwife Mentorship Program is to nurture strong relationships between student midwives and professional midwife mentors while advancing the strong legacy of intergenerational learning in the midwifery community.
