To promote the graduation of midwives of color and prepare them to practice in Florida, FSTM is launching the Graduate Midwife Assistance Program (GMAP). GMAP will provide funding to graduating students of color to allow them to take their licensing exam and pay their licensing fee. The cost of exam and licensing is approximately $1,700.00, which can be an obstacle to students who have been through three years of intensive education. Donating to FSTM's GMAP program will help assist these students to become licensed and begin practicing in their communities -- doing their part to improve mother-baby outcomes.
