Support student midwives
during the covid-19 crisis

We are living in uncertain times, facing an unprecedented crisis. During this time, FSTM finds itself in a unique circumstance as the needs of our students far outstrip available resources. Many midwifery students will face enormous difficulties as they seek to continue their education. Their concerns lie in meeting their families’ most basic needs, loss of income and uncertainty for their futures. So far, FSTM has received multiple student requests totaling thousands of dollars. This means our largest scholarship fund, The Jennifer Wolheim Fund, is being utilized more than ever before.

Marilyn Magnet, Jennifer’s mother and FSTM benefactor, has graciously agreed to send additional funds... but that alone will not be enough. FSTM is working hard to ensure our current students are well-equipped to continue learning the essential skills needed to continue our essential work as midwives. Unfortunately, many students are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 crisis very hard.

It is our fervent belief that midwifery is an essential and vital part of healthcare. Midwives are essential to our communities and families especially during this time to provide high-quality care. It is our job to help student midwives STAY student midwives, and they need your help during this time.

If you are willing and able, please consider donating to the fund. All donations go directly to our students to help them navigate these unprecedented times. Thank you for your generosity and support of our future essential workers.
