Ricci Bohoboy L.M., R.N. Ricci has been working in the healthcare field since receiving her first degree in Respiratory Therapy from Los Angeles Valley College in 1976. She became passionate about working with women and natural birth while experiencing the joy and independence of her own two homebirths in 1981 and 1984. Ricci became a Registered Nurse after graduating from Pasco-Hernando Community College in 1988. She was also a graduate of the first class of students from FSTM and became a Licensed Midwife in 1997. She has worked in Labor and Delivery as a nurse, birth assistant and midwife in a variety of freestanding birth centers and homebirth practices in Florida. She received her Certification to teach CPR and NRP (neonatal resuscitation program) in 2000 and teaches both throughout the state of Florida. Elizabeth Boros-Hardenbrook, B.A., M.S.W. Elizabeth received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University with a dual major in Social Work and Psychology. Elizabeth also holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Florida State University. Her work in the field of HIV/AIDS began in February 1994, and has included community prevention and education to sixteen counties in Florida, counseling and testing, sponsoring a support group and referrals to case management and medical services. Elizabeth teaches FSTM's HIV/AIDS course. Candy Brown, L.M., I.C.C.E., B.S. Candy is a Licensed Midwife and a graduate of FSTM's first class of midwifery students. She owned and operated a homebirth practice in Florida for six years. She has been a clinical and laboratory scientist since 1981 when she received her B.S. in Medical Technology from the University of Colorado. She also has many years experience as a Childbirth Educator and Doula. Candy's daughter was born in Tennessee with a midwife in 1981, and she is the proud grandmother of Hayden and Tristan. Char Lynn Daughtry L.M.   Char Lynn was one of the first midwives licensed in the State of Florida under the current statute. She received her Diploma in Midwifery from the North Florida School of Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. She has been practicing since 1984, and is the owner/operator of the Labor of Love Birth Centers in Lakeland and Dunedin Florida. She has served on the Council of Licensed Midwifery as Vice Chair and Chair, and on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Childbearing Centers. She is a long term advocate for VBAC and for Licensed Midwives practicing in birth centers. Char Lynn is the mother of 6 children, and she has 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Kaitlin Earley, M.M., L.M., Academic Director Kaitlin is a graduate of the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery and also holds a Master's Degree in Music from the University of Hartford. She has worked in the Administrative offices at FSTM since 2004 as an Assistant, then as the Academic Coordinator. She has a variety of teaching experiences in music, Bibliography and Childbirth Education, and her familiarity with both Academia and Midwifery have well prepared her for work at FSTM. Theresa Finkbeiner, B.S., L.M.T. Theresa received her Master Herbalists degree from Dr. Christopher's School of Natural Healing in 1984. She also holds a Bachelor's in Psychology, from Ramapo College, and a diploma in Massage Therapy from the Florida School of Massage. She owns and operates Coyote Moon Herb Company, offering aromatherapy massage oils, herb tinctures made with the lunar cycle, first aid salves, birthing needs, dream pillows and herb teas. Theresa currently teaches at Florida's Therapeutic Massage School in Pensacola, and has been teaching herbal medicine, leading herb walks and giving herbal consultations for the past 15 years. Jennifer "Zoe" Flight, L.M., C.P.M. Zoe is a Licensed Midwife and a graduate of the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery. She currently owns and operates a homebirth practice and is one of the staff midwives at a Rural Health Clinic not far from Gainesville. She received her BA in Sociology from the University of Utrecht in The Netherlands in 2000, and worked in The Netherlands as a Social Pedagogical Therapist for four years. She moved to the United States in 2004 with her husband and son. Her dream is to see every woman enjoy her own power in giving birth. Teresa Glaser, R.N., L.M., I.B.C.L.C Teresa has been a licensed midwife in the state of Florida since 1984. She also has a long-standing involvement with maternal and infant care as a Registered Nurse and as an Internationally Certified Lactation Consultant. She is a graduate of Santa Fe Community College with an Associate's in nursing, holds a Bachelor's degree from Kent State University in Early Childhood Education, and received her midwifery education at The Maternity Center Midwifery Training Program in El Paso, Texas. Teresa currently works as the Breastfeeding Coordinator at Shands Hospital/AGH in Gainesville, working with mothers and infants in the NICU, Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby Units. Teresa and her husband Rob are the parents of three children, two sons and a daughter. Jennifer Pierson, B.S.N., M.S.N., A.R.N.P. Jennifer Pierson is a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner since 2002. She grew up on the space coast, then pursued both her BSN and her MSN from the University of Florida. She currently works at Shands Teaching Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Jennifer is also active in the North Central Florida Breastfeeding Coalition and International Cesarean Awareness Network of Gainesville. She has two children, a son and a daughter. Lori Scott, B.S.N., M.D. Lori received her Bachelor's in Nursing from Southern Adventist University, and her MD from the University of South Carolina. She has experience in teaching Anatomy and Physiology and Human Nutrition at Lake City Community College and Santa Fe Community College in the Nursing and Allied Health programs, and has worked in nursing in various hospitals throughout the south. Lori has one child, a son. Stacey Walden, L.M.. Stacey is the Clinical Director for FSTM and has worked as an instructor here for five years. She began her midwifery training at FSTM in 1995 and graduated from Sage Femme Midwifery School in California in 1998. She has worked as a licensed midwife in California, Alaska, and Florida in both homebirth and birth center practices. Stacey's enthusiasm and dedication to midwifery motivate her to educate future midwives for the continuation of midwifery in Florida. Jacqueline Woodard, A.R.N.P. Jackie's family is originally from Mississippi but she was raised in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. She received her Associate's and Bachelor's degrees from East Tennessee State University and her Master's Degree from Bellevue University. She is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with a specialty women’s health. She retired from the University of Florida, College of Medicine in 2009. Jeffrey Weisberg Jeffrey is an experienced Mediator, trained in Conflict Resolution and Non-Violent Communication by Marshal Rosenburg He serves as a volunteer in the Florida Court system working with juveniles and adults. Jeffrey has been leading personal growth programs for over 15 years; is a Facilitator of Men's Work, Gender Healing Workshops; and is an Inspirational Breath Facilitator & Trainer. He s a founding member and serves on the Board of Directors of Peace Partnership International whose mission is forging partnerships with and among government, civil society and business, to catalyze the transformation from a culture of violence to a culture of peace throughout the world. |
